Support

Timeglass keeps notes and photos for as long as you need them, on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. If something does not work, or if you have an idea for the app, write to us.

Contact us

Write to us with this form. Give an email address so that we can answer you.

We usually answer within two working days. For a bug, please include your device (for example iPhone 16), your system version and, for Apple Watch, the watch model.

Using the app

Adding a note or a photo

Type in the field at the top of the list, choose a duration with the clock button, then tap Add. The expand button next to the field opens a larger editor for longer text. Use the camera or photo library buttons to keep a picture instead; any text you typed becomes its caption.

Durations

Each item lasts 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week or 1 month from the moment you add it. The time left is shown under the item, and an orange Expires soon badge appears shortly before the end. When the time is up, the item and its photo are deleted.

Renewing and changing the duration

Swipe an item to the right to restart its timer with the same duration. Touch and hold it (or right-click on iPad) to change the duration, share it or delete it. The new duration starts immediately and is used for later renewals.

Reminders

Open the gear button, then turn on Notify me before expiration. You are notified 10 minutes before for 1-hour items, 1 hour before for 1-day items, and 1 day before for weeks and months. Renewing an item reschedules its reminder; deleting it cancels the reminder.

Home Screen widget

Touch and hold the Home Screen, tap Edit then Add Widget, and choose Timeglass. The small widget starts a new note; the medium widget also opens the camera directly.

Apple Watch

Open Timeglass on the watch, dictate or type a note, pick a duration and tap Save. The note is kept on the watch and sent to your iPhone as soon as it is reachable; the watch shows Transferred to iPhone once it has arrived.

iPad

Drag text, links or images from another app anywhere onto the list to add them with the selected duration. You can also drag an item out of Timeglass into another app.

Common questions

An item disappeared

Its duration ended. Expired items are deleted for good, on every device, and cannot be recovered. To keep something longer, renew it or choose a longer duration before it expires.

I do not receive reminders

Check that reminders are on in Timeglass (gear button), and that notifications are allowed in Settings → Notifications → Timeglass. Reminders whose time had already passed when you turned them on are not sent.

My items do not appear on my other device

Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account, that iCloud is on for Timeglass, and that they have a network connection. Syncing runs in the background and may take a few minutes; opening the app usually speeds it up.

A note stays “Waiting to transfer” on my watch

The watch keeps the note until your iPhone confirms it. Bring the iPhone nearby, unlock it and open Timeglass once; the transfer then resumes on its own. You can also tap Retry on the watch. If the note expired before reaching the iPhone, the watch says so and it is not added.

How do I delete my data?

Delete items in the app, or delete the app to remove everything stored on the device. If you used iCloud sync, also open Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Timeglass, and delete the data there. We hold no copy of it, so there is nothing for us to erase.
